The Red Ribbon Story EP is a soundtrack EP that accompanies Araby's fictional short with the same title. The songs are part of the film, and help communicate the story through the lyrics.
The Red Ribbon Prelude
Araby composed this throughout the scriptwriting process, with the intention of musically representing the 'vibe' of the script.
This song describes the guy's feelings toward the girl he likes, saying that he would love to approach her, and he knows she has a boyfriend, but he feels that he would make her a million times happier than the douchebag she is with.
This song comes after the old man convinces the guy to approach the girl. So the guy puts all his worries behind him and finally strikes up the courage to approach the lady.
This song is from the perspective of the old man. His story goes back years, when he had the love of his life taken away from him to never see again. Yet when a lady enters the pub, he can't quite make out if its her or not. The main lyric is 'if i could see your eyes, i'd finally feel alive'.
This song was cut out of the film because Araby changed the ending of the movie to try and avoid a complete cheese fest. This song is a positive song about love and all the feelings it makes you feel.
'Making Ken...' series by Wappato Media House
Ken Wetton, an individual of great wisdom, crass humour and unfounded generosity, has been our friend for many years. Being filmmakers, we like to show our friendship in the form of forcing Ken into uncomfortable situations - this one is no exception.
We decided to make Ken Wetton write a love song for his long time girlfriend Kayleigh - and oh, a love song he did write.
Jack of all trades - king of none. Enjoy Ken Wetton, as always.
